DISCOVER THE POWER OF

Sport Massage Therapy

I recently earned my level 3 sports massage therapy certification, and I plan to earn my level 4 next year. I believe this will be a great addition to my personal training business because I can hopefully prevent injuries and, if you schedule a massage, it will make you feel fantastic. The benefits of massage will only help you achieve greater and better results, whether your goal is to lose weight, gain it, tone your muscles, build your strength, or improve your flexibility.

Sports Massage

Although it’s very simple to ignore it, recovery is a crucial part of any training regimen. Whether you’re just starting out at the gym or preparing for your next marathon, it makes no difference. Your body experiences wear and tear from exercise of any kind, so you want to give your muscles and tendons time to heal. Sports massages are a type of massage therapy that many active people choose because of this.

What precisely is a ‘sports massage’?

It’s not the same as the one you usually get at the spa. A sports massage, on the other hand, is a treatment meant to keep you in peak condition and prevent injuries. A list of the main advantages of sports massage can be found here, along with helpful advice to consider before scheduling your first session.

If you were given the choice between a deep-tissue massage and a sports massage, the sports massage would likely consider your physical activities and try to customise the treatment to fit the time and type of activity, while the deep-tissue massage would be more focused on pressure and overall lifestyle. This is not to say that a sports massage won’t cause pressure. Even though sports massages shouldn’t hurt, you might feel some tenderness and discomfort, particularly if the massage therapist is working on a tight, sore, or injured area.

You will receive a form to complete when scheduling a sports massage with EHPT. It is crucial that you do so because the information you provide will help me understand your goals and the parts of your body that are hurting or uncomfortable so I can better treat you.

Before the massage starts, range-of-motion and functional tests will be performed. These are done so that you can observe how the treatment has improved your injury or issue and so that I can determine which body parts are causing the pain or discomfort.
